NLP Congruence ?
The greatest speech ever made. Charlie Chaplin plays the great dictator and in the current state of our world I would urge you to watch and listen to what is actually a truly inspirational piece of oratory.
During the era of McCarthyism, Chaplin was accused of "un-American activities" as a suspected communist by J. Edgar Hoover. When Hoover learned of Chaplin's trip to England in 1952, he negotiated with the Immigration and Naturalization Service to revoke Chaplin's re-entry permit, exiling Chaplin so he could not return to the US for his alleged political leanings. In 1972, Chaplin was given special permission to come out of exile to accept the Honorary Academy Award for "the incalculable effect he has had in making motion pictures the art form of this century". Stepping onto the stage of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Chaplin received the longest standing ovation in Academy Award history, lasting a full twelve minutes.
Chaplin talks of those who preach freedom and practice oppression. Of the soldiers who fight for freedom for those who would enslave the hearts minds and bodies of humanity.
He makes the spirit soar in this which in my humble opinion is Chaplins best ever performance. And that is because Charlie is speaking from his heart. He chose exile in Switzerland away from the bright lights because his political views did not match those of the establishment.
It is this that makes Charlie Chaplin so inspiring.
In NLP terms he is totally congruent. The conversations and beliefs he has are totally aligned with the words that he speaks.
Enjoy the inspiration from someone who was known as the funniest man on earth.

Behavioural Flexibility and NLP

NLP Courses Wellington

“Notice that the stiffest tree is most easily cracked, while the bamboo or willow survives by bending with the wind.”

Think about this and notice areas in your life where you could be more flexible. Then notice the difference in the results that you can get when you are more flexible in your attitude and your actions.
One of the presuppositions of NLP is that the system ( or person) with the most flexibility controls the system.
Now think about that !

NLP Persuasion
NLP Persuasion
Persuasion appears simple. And it is when you know how.
NLP persuasion is more than just words and smiles though both of those things do help.
But there is more. ! You see when you are congruent with not just yourself but also completely aligned with your market or audience things get so much easier.
To have those conversations with who and what they really want because you know who and what they really are can be challenging. That's why I spent years learning NLP persuasion.
You don't have to be curious about what else you can learn here. You are in charge of all your results after all. And it's not necessary to experience that you are right about that. If you want different results then come back here for more .

This is a test to see if we have to sink the boat
There is an expression in NLP called "sinking the boat".. We teach this in our NLP courses.
It refers to one of the NLP pre-suppositions that there is no such thing as failure, only feed back.
The story is that you are sailing your little yacht from say Auckland in New Zealand to Brisbane in Australia. After a few days you check your instruments and discover that you are actually on course for Sydney Australia. Not the destination you're aiming for. The question is
Do you sink the boat?
The obvious thing to do is to adjust your course until you are on the right heading for Brisbane again. And that's what you do.
Next morning you check your instruments again and discover your on perfect course for Cairns which as you probably know is well North of Brisbane. Once again the question is. Do you sink the boat ?
Of course not. You adjust your course so that you are aiming slightly further South and carry on sailing.
Next morning you awaken to find you are right outside Brisbane harbour but you are pointing at the wrong side of it. You are headed for the South side of the harbour and your Berth is on the North side.
Would you sink the boat?
Of course not. Once again you're going to slightly alter your course so that you are aiming for your destination.
The other part of this that many NLP trainers omit to tell you is that you need to know what your destination is before you start and you also need milestones or some way of knowing where you are in relation to that destination.
In my next post I'm going to talk about how you can define where you want to go in what we refer to as sensory specific terms.
You don't need to know what I mean by sensory specific for now as it will all be explained later...

Why NLP Courses Teach You About Congruence
Congruence is one of those non-obvious aspects of NLP courses that some folks manage to miss.
Have you ever experienced being in a state of flow where everything just fell into place? And the right place, at that.
A state in which every word you said had the precise effect you hoped it would and where people understood you totally. The state where you felt confident and comfortable and relaxed and everything just felt so easy. And in that state you were probably saying things to your self that were supportive and nurturing and loving, while other people around you were experiencing you as charismatic and trusted.
Most people have had that at one point in their life. Where it all just lines up, perfectly.
And have you ever watched somebody else ? Maybe it was a teacher or somebody doing a sales presentation or a parent with a child and they seemed to be doing all the right stuff. They were appeared to be saying the correct things and using all the correct postures. And despite doing all those correct things it wasn't effective because they weren't getting that result they seemed to want. And the less they got the result they wanted, the worse their performance became.
Have you ever seen that ?
Here's what is important about the two states I just described...
The first one is about internal experiences and I got you to think about the experience. I described how it felt from the perspective of your own experience of being in that state. How your body would feel and what you would say. The effect you are having on other people around you and you went inside your own mind and imagined that.
Because of the way that your brain is wired when I say to you "Can you remember a time when" ?, your mind automatically goes to a time such as the one i'm describing. If it can't find that experience in your memory then it goes right ahead and makes one up.
This is why the most effective marketing, political campaigns, teachings and movements, all get you to imagine what it will be like when you get (x). Imagination is a very powerful part of how humans operate. It's why we tell stories. Stories allow us to imagine.
From imagination we create reality...
Reality is based on your beliefs which comes from your perceived reality.
So what has this got to do with NLP and congruence.
Well, congruence is what makes the difference between the two results I described.
On an NLP course the trainer will be in a totally congruent and effective state. What this means is that their mind, body and emotions are all in the best state to deliver your training to you. This is done by using a proven methodology for teaching based on years of research, refinement and practice.
OK Mike but I'm not an NLP trainer ...
And that doesn't mean you can't apply these same NLP techniques to other areas in your life. If you're like most folks then you enjoy being in that flow state and flow is a pretty darn good description for congruence. If you enjoy being happy then think back to the last time you felt like that. You can probably also realise that you were in a state of flow.
Anyway please...!
I don't want you to imagine about what it's like to be in that flow state because you are already thinking it anyway.
Enjoy

NLP Training for you to use right now
Here's a short video I just uploaded to my YouTube Channel etrainingsystems YouTube
I talk about the six languages that your brain understands. No I don't mean English or Hindi or Armenian.
I'm talking about visual, auditory, Kinaesthetic, olfactory, gustatory and auditory digital. These may not seem all that important to you at first glance.
As we go on together I intend to demonstrate that understanding how your "six senses" work are critical for being truly successful in every area of your life.
This is a brief intro to what I teach on my nlp courses and trainings but you can relax because there is nothing for sale here. Just lots more useful stuff that you can easily learn to begin getting what you want for your life.
PS: Please Remember to like this video. Thanks
Mike

Welcome back to video 2 in this series on how to use your brain effectively.
In this video I talk about how your brain distorts, deletes and generalises information it receives from your environment and how that information is not always correct.
Your brain creates your experiences of events based on what it has experienced and believes to be true from your past.
Seeing is not believing...!!
I'll be loading up more information on this to http://nlp-courses.org over the next couple of weeks and how you can use what you will learn to your advantage.
